WE'RE DELIGHTED TO OPEN OUR DOORS TO YOU

We chose to call our house after Matteo Naldi, doctor of Pope Alexander VII Chigi, who lived here in the XVII century. Soon after Casa dell’Abate Naldi became the property of Angelo Simonelli, master of Arts and close associate of the Cardinal Flavio Chigi, marquis of San Quirico.

A particular attention towards the Arts has grown over the centuries and has remained in the House.
Thanks to our ancestor Simonelli we continue this attention today and we have made it our own.

Casa dell’Abate Naldi is open to and reverberates with sounds of music.
Since 2013 it has also hosted our Culinary School so we can pass on the genuine flavours of our traditional recipes.

We have decided to live in our historical family home that we love so much, to preserve it and hopefully to be able to hand it down in good condition to future generations.

From the beginning we felt that our House should not be hidden behind closed doors, but open to the world: we want to share our love for Arts with all those people who love and recognise beauty.

I have been cooking and planning the kitchen work at the Agriturismo Il Rigo for many years but I have now handed over the leadership to my daughter Luisa and her husband Matthias.

I have loved cooking since I was a child, and this love continues today with the endless search for high quality products and excellent wines.

In the historical Casa dell’Abate Naldi I teach cooking classes and organize private dinners and wine tasting. I will guide you not only in the perfect way to prepare a dish but also give you the background and traditions of that recipe.

After many years in the kitchen I’ve learnt that the most important thing is to put your heart in it..
